IELTS Speaking Practice: Reading Books

Speaking Part 1
Q1: Do you enjoy reading books?
Absolutely, I’m an avid reader. I find it extremely relaxing and it’s a good way to unwind at the end of a long day. I particularly enjoy historical fiction as it allows me to escape into a different time period.
• Avid reader → Người đọc nhiệt tình, đam mê đọc sách
• Unwind → Thư giãn, xả stress
• Historical fiction → Tiểu thuyết lịch sử
Q2: How often do you read books?
I try to read on a daily basis. Even if I only have a spare half an hour, I’ll try to fit in some reading. I find it’s a good way to expand my horizons and increase my knowledge.
• Daily basis → Hằng ngày
• Spare half an hour → Nửa tiếng rỗi
• Expand my horizons → Mở rộng kiến thức, hiểu biết
Q3: Do you prefer physical books or eBooks?
I have a slight preference for physical books. There’s just something about the smell of a new book and the feel of turning the pages that e-books can’t replicate. However, I do appreciate the convenience of eBooks, especially when traveling.
• Slight preference → Có một chút thiên vị, thích hơn một chút
• Can’t replicate → Không thể tái tạo, mô phỏng lại
• The convenience → Sự tiện lợi
