Câu phức

Complex sentence là câu chứa 1 mệnh đề độc lập và ít nhất 1 mênh đề phụ thuộc (subordinate clause)

Ví dụ

Parks should be replaced by new buildings   because there is not enough accomodation for residents.

Parks should be replaced by new buildings   là mệnh đề độc lập

There is not enough accomodation for residents là mệnh đề phụ thuộc vì chứa subodinating conjunction (because) ở phía trước

Có 4 loại từ nối khác nhau trong câu phức

  1. Because, since, as: đưa ra nguyên nhân

Ví dụ: Parks should be replaced by new buildings   as there is not enough accomodation for residents.

  • Though, although, while, even though: đưa ra sự tương phản

Ví dụ: Many people go traveling though corona virus outbreak has been widespread

  • After, as, since, before, until, when, while: Chỉ thời gian hay chuỗi sự kiện

Ví dụ: the living area has been polluted since a factory was built nearby

  • If, unless: đưa ra điều kiện

Ví dụ: I will study abroad unless I pass the university entrance exam

1. Biểu đồ: barchart (cột), pie chart (tròn), table (bảng), chart, graph(biểu đồ), diagram(hình vẽ dùng cho bài process)
2. Một số động từ mang nghĩa chỉ ra, minh họa : illustrate, show, highlight, describe
3. Thông tin dữ liệu: information, data 

4. Các từ về tỉ lệ %: percentage (thường đi với of), percent ( trước đó là con số), rate, proportion
4. Thường bài task 1 liên quan đến con số. Nên ta cần biết cách sử dụng
the number of +danh từ đếm được (chuyển thành how many) 
the amount of + danh từ không đếm được ( chuyển thành how much)

5. Sử dụng mệnh đề quan hệ rút gọn

The line chart compares the percentage of time which was spent by students for different activities at a university

Viết lại The line chart illustrates the rate of time spent by students for different activities at a university

Ví dụ
The line graphs show the average annual income of males and females at different ages in Australia in 2001.

Two graphs illustrate how much men and women earned annually at different ages in Australia in 2001.

You should say:
  • who gave it to you
  • On what occasion it was given to you
  • What it looks like and how to use it
  • and say why it is important to you
Keywords: smart phone, My father, on my birthday, slim, a present from a person I love most
I am going to tell you about a gift I received. It was a smart phone from my father on my 15th birthday. Well, having a smart phone on my own was my dream. I needed it for its benefits. So I was jealous of my friends who had smartphones. Therefore I was very happy for my birthday present. My smartphone looks nice, slim, and light. It was covered with gorilla glass, touch screen in the back, in the front respectively. As you know, using a smartphone is not difficult, especially for young people who are accustomed to modern technology. So I find it easy to use my phone as well. To use it, you only press the power button and unlock your phone by password or fingerprint. Then you can add apps to your phone by going to the app store or play store. After that, All you need to do is to tap your apps to enjoy them.
This present is very important to me because it is what I desired for a long time. More importantly, my smartphone from my father who I love most.

Government shouldn’t have to provide care or financial support for elderly people because it is the responsibility of each person to prepare for retirement and support him or herself. 

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? 

 

Nowadays, the world population is aging, and this puts pressure on society. Therefore, it is said that each person should have a financial plan after their retirement and the Government doesn’t have to aid retired people. I disagree with this idea and in this essay, I will present my view.

Firstly, When people retire, they don’t have a salary anymore. Furthermore, Elderly people’s health is not as good as young people. They may easily be able to have aging-related-diseases such as heart stroke, cancer…Provided that they were sick, they would have to pay a lot of money for high hospital expenses. However, most elderly can not afford this finance if the Government does not pay for them.

Secondly, the Government should play an important role in supporting the elderly. When retired people were still young, they were working and paying taxes for the Government. Moreover, They devoted themself for the development as well as the wealth of society. Therefore, It is true that  they certainly get deserving allowances which belong to them.

Last but not least, Each person needs to have a backup plan for their future.  If The Government is unlikely to help them, for example, because of budget deficiency, The elderly will still  have to care for themself instead of expecting the Government’s help.

In summary, the Government should have to aid its retirees for their great contributions. Despite the fact that each person also should  prepare financially, so they assure a decent life after they stop working. (251 words)

Two pie charts show how the workforce was distributed in Britain in the year 1932 and 1992.

Overall, the dominance of industry was replaced by the services. Besides, more people got jobs in 1992 than 1932.

In 1932, Industry accounted for 42% which was the highest proportion. Then it decreased dramatically to 15%. Next, Agriculture and fishing became less popular. It took up 15% in 1932, followed by a decrease of 8% in 1992. More people earned jobs due to the fact that the rate of unemployment went down from 25 % to 10%. In contrast, 1992 witnessed a considerable rise in service that rocketed to over a half in the total. Moreover, the percentage of People working in the government sector increased five-folds from 3% to 15%, making it the biggest increase among sectors of workforce. 

In summary, there were a great deal of changes in workforce distribution between 1932 and 1992. The biggest changes belonged to Industry, Services, government
