Q1: What is your favorite public holiday in your country?

I am particularly fond of Tet, which is the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. This public holiday pulls at my heartstrings as it’s the time when families reunite, and the whole country is steeped in traditional customs and festivities. Plus, the atmosphere is incredibly lively and bustling, making it a truly special occasion.

Q2: How do people celebrate this holiday?

Tet is celebrated in a very festive yet meaningful way. People clean and decorate their homes with traditional items like peach blossom trees and kumquat trees. They also prepare special dishes such as banh chung and visit their relatives to give best wishes for the New Year. It’s a time of goodwill, generosity, and high spirits.

Q3: Do you think public holidays are important?

Absolutely, public holidays are of great significance. They create a break from the daily grind and allow people to unwind and recharge. Moreover, they provide an opportunity to strengthen social bonds and cultural identity. So, in my view, they are vital to both individual well-being and societal harmony.
