IELTS Speaking Practice: Social Media

Speaking Part 1
Q1: How often do you use social media?
I use social media on a daily basis. It’s become an integral part of my life. I use it to keep in contact with friends and family, to stay up-to-date on current events, and sometimes just to kill time.
• Integral part → Phần không thể thiếu
• Keep in contact → Giữ liên lạc
• Stay up-to-date → Cập nhật thông tin mới nhất
Q2: What is your favourite social media platform and why?
I’m particularly fond of Instagram. It’s a visually appealing platform that allows me to share photos and videos from my daily life. The interface is user-friendly and the content is generally positive and uplifting.
• Visually appealing → Hấp dẫn về mặt hình ảnh
• User-friendly → Dễ sử dụng
• Positive and uplifting → Tích cực và động viên
Q3: Do you think social media has more positive or negative effects?
It’s a double-edged sword. On one hand, social media brings people together, fosters communication, and provides a platform for self-expression. On the other hand, it can be a source of misinformation, cyberbullying, and can lead to addiction.
• Double-edged sword → Cái gì có cả lợi và hại
• Fosters communication → Thúc đẩy giao tiếp
• Source of misinformation → Nguồn thông tin sai lệch
